Dean Clemmer, MS, LPC, Therapist
Dean is a Licensed Professional Counselor and is certified by the National Board for Certified Counselors. He also holds a certification in Marriage and Family Therapy and has been practicing psychotherapy with individuals and couples for over 20 years. His approach involves using insight and new ways of viewing problems as a springboard for change. Areas of special interest and experience include working with relationship differences, depression, anger management, trauma and anxiety, men's issues and pathological vs. healthy spiritual development.



Carol Emerson, MSS, LCSW, Therapist
Carol received her Masters in Social Service at Bryn Mawr Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research. Her work experience includes the hospital inpatient unit, intensive outpatient programs, group therapy and individual therapy. Specialty areas include depression, anxiety and bipolar disorders. Carol has been trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy which works well with complex personality issues, eating disorders and addictive behaviors.



Lois Frey Gray, LCSW, Therapist
Lois specializes in individual counseling and therapy with adults of all ages. As a licensed clinical social worker, Lois uses a broad range of therapeutic methods to support people in their healing and growth, especially those going through significant life changes or losses as well as those recovering from trauma and abuse. Her experience includes treating anxiety and depression with cognitive behavioral therapy and other methods. Lois received her MSSW from the University of Tennessee and a post-masters Certificate in Individual Therapy from Smith College School for Social Work in Massachusetts. She was trained to lead Intensive Journal Workshops by Ira Progoff, Ph.D., the internationally known originator of this process for life integration. Lois is also certified to do Lyndra Bills, M.D.’s Trauma Art.



Perry J. Hazeltine, PhD, Psychologist
Perry is interested in helping adults through anxiety and depression during times of transition or loss. He sees great opportunities in mid-life that are often preceded by loss of enthusiasm, or great anxiety such as fears of illness, aging and death. Those interested in their spiritual life can be helped to see these periods of confusion and pain as precursors to personal growth and an opportunity to deepen their interior life. Perry has a bachelor’s in Religious Studies from Villanova University and a doctorate in Counseling Psychology from Temple University. In addition to psychotherapy, Perry offers career assessment and counseling. He also provides psychological evaluations of people entering ministry and conducts fitness-for-ministry tests as well. Alta Landis, MS, LPC, Clinical Director
Alta holds a Master’s degree in Psychology and is a Licensed Professional Counselor. In her counseling experience of over 20 years, she provides therapy for adults who seek to understand and adjust to life’s powerful transitions created by aging, divorce, death, illness, career disruptions, identity confusion, change in family structures and marital issues. She works with depression, anxiety, grief, disillusionment or disconnection from one’s spiritual values and beliefs. Her approach incorporates ways for finding clarity and direction for growth and healthy living. She also provides counseling for couples in traditional and nontraditional relationships.



Herb Landis, LCSW, BCD, Therapist
Herb is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and is certified by the American Board of Examiners in Clinical Social Work as well as is a member of the National Association of Social Workers. He received his Masters at Virginia Commonwealth University in 1990. Herb has provided psychotherapy services for all ages while working in community mental health as a Senior Clinician and Crisis Intervention Supervisor and has worked with children, adolescents, families, adults and couples as an outpatient therapist. His areas of interest and experience include working with depression, anxiety, trauma, crisis, grief and men's issues. He also works with the Amish population. Herb uses psychodynamic, cognitive behavioral intervention as well as solution focused and problem solving techniques.



Katie Mount, MA, LPC, Therapist
Katie Mount is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a certified child sexual abuse treatment provider. She earned her MA in Counseling at Eastern University and a BS in Social Work from Shippensburg University. Katie’s interests include working with children, adults and families to provide counseling for trauma, mood and anxiety disorders, life transitions, child behavior problems, anger issues, divorce transitions, spiritual and personal growth issues and relationship challenges. Her approach integrates psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral and humanistic interventions.



Beth A. Mull, PsyD, Licensed Psychologist
Beth has a doctoral degree in clinical psychology and completed a post-doctoral fellowship in clinical neuropsychology through the Samaritan Counseling Center. She conducts neuropsychological testing to identify cognitive impairments resulting from traumatic brain injury, stroke and dementia. She also assesses learning and behavioral problems, as well as personality functioning. In addition to her interests in testing, Beth conducts psychotherapy with children and adults at our offices at Oregon Pike and Lititz.



Rhonda Myers, MS, NCC, LPC, Therapist
Rhonda is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a National Certified Counselor. She received her BA in Behavioral Science from Messiah College, and a MS in Counseling from Shippensburg University. Before joining the Samaritan Counseling Center she worked in inpatient, intensive outpatient, college counseling, and outpatient settings. She uses cognitive behavioral (CBT), dialectical behavioral (DBT), and emotionally focused (EFT, for couples) therapy approaches in working with clients with a variety of concerns, including mood and anxiety issues, relationships, eating/body image, grief and loss, career, life transitions, and personal growth.



Diane Rapisardo, MSS, LCSW, Therapist
Diane earned her Master of Social Service degree at Bryn Mawr Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Diane has over twenty-five years of professional experience, and has worked with children, adolescents, adults, families, couples and groups. She has provided compassionate, caring services to persons of all ages. Currently she works primarily with adults, but can include children and adolescents in family sessions as needed. Diane works with persons with most mental health issues, including, but not limited to: mood disorders, relationship issues, family and work stress, life transitions, parenting, grief/loss, codependency, communication, women’s issues, personal growth and development and spirituality issues. Her therapeutic style is direct and supportive, using various therapeutic approaches that are individualized based on patients’ needs and personality styles. Diane combines wisdom, humor and compassion with skilled interventions to facilitate change, growth and healing. She works in both the Lancaster and Lititz offices.



Gerald Ressler, LCSW, BCD, MHA, Executive Director
Gerald is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, a Board Certified Diplomate by the American Board of Examiners in Clinical Social Work and a member of the National Association of Social Workers. He also has a Master's degree in Health Administration. Gerald's 25-plus years of work experience include hospital inpatient, partial hospital and intensive outpatient services utilizing group therapy, couples therapy and individual therapy modalities. He works primarily with adults and his approach involves using insight, problem solving techniques and new perspectives on problems and oneself to bring about change. Specialty areas include most areas of mental health including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, personality disorders and thought disorders as well as relationship difficulties, life transitions, identity confusion and clarification of one's spiritual values and beliefs.



Frank J. Stalfa, DMin, LPC, Therapist
Frank is a therapist and pastoral counselor at Samaritan Counseling Center as well as an Associate Professor of Pastoral Theology at Lancaster Theological Seminary. Frank is a Diplomate with the American Psychotherapy Association and a National Board Certified and Licensed Professional Counselor. In addition to working with those who need marital or couples therapy, Frank provides marital consultation with couples, and counsels persons concerned about faith issues, those who are in divorce transition, and those who are grieving. Frank helped develop the Center's premarital workshops over the past several years.



Laurie Vogt, MS, LMFT, Therapist
Laurie holds a Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy from Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, CA. She is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and a clinical member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy. She is also an approved AAMFT supervisor-in-training. Laurie has worked in a variety of clinical settings including outpatient, inpatient and intensive outpatient. She has over 15 years of experience counseling with couples, adults, adolescents and their families. Laurie is compassionate and collaborative in her work with clients. She draws upon family systems, emotionally focused (EFT) and cognitive behavioral (CBT) therapy approaches to inform her work. Her areas of specialty include marital, couple and adolescent therapy, depression and anger, anxiety, grief and loss, postpartum depression, ADHD/ADD, career transitions, trauma and abuse. In addition, Laurie works with clients desiring an integration of their faith with psychological understandings.
