Check back for upcoming dates! 2010 Pastoral Leadership Series: Challenges of Congregational Ministry The Samaritan Counseling Center is pleased to announce its 2010 Pastoral Leadership Series: The Whole Organizes the Parts: Leadership and the Congregation as a Family System. The series, open to any interested clergy person and professional church staff, consists of a quarterly breakfast at which a topic related to family systems is presented, followed by an opportunity to attend a three-session group the next month. The groups allow participants to explore a more in-depth understanding of the topic in an environment of collegial support and mutual learning, and include integrative work to help with practical application of the theory. The Congregation as an Emotional System begins February 11, 2010. An Interpersonal Effectiveness Skills Group Begins March 22, 2010 Good interpersonal skills help to maintain relationships. Some individuals struggle to balance their own needs with the needs of others. As a result, they often fluctuate between avoiding conflict completely and creating an intense confrontation. This educational group is for you if you would like to be more assertive, successfully deal with interpersonal conflict, maintain your relationships, and preserve self-respect.
