The Ethics in Business Award Event honors for profit businesses, non-profit organizations and business individuals who stand apart in their dedication to corporate social responsibility in their employment practices, civic activities, environmental concern, and ethical conduct. The Samaritan Counseling Center envisions the purposes of this event as educating and engaging the business community with the work of the Center, as raising public awareness of the Center as a leading proponent of ethical behavior and integrity in business and of healthy workplace environments, as a means of encouraging collaboration and partnerships of organizations and institutions that are concerned with issues of ethics in business, and as a means of raising funds for the Samaritan Fund. The Ethics in Business Awards has a number of sponsorship opportunities available. For more information, please click here. We have a vested interest in supporting businesses and organizations that “do well by doing good,” because ethical practices and social responsibility contribute to the mental and emotional health of those employed by them and who benefit from their services. We hope it will provide the community with an awareness of the importance of ethics and a forum to acknowledge those who maintain and practice ethical behavior in the workplace and in their lives. We look to this as a day to honor the highest standards of ethics, to broaden the discussion of ethics in the community and to provide opportunities to sponsors and participants for education. The program has generated widespread community support and the Samaritan Counseling Center is grateful to those who volunteer their time and expertise to make this award a successful annual event. We would like to thank those on the Ethics in Business Steering Committee. To review the award criteria, please click here. Nominations for the 2010 Ethics in Business Award may be submitted after June 1, 2009. For more information, please contact Anita Hanna at 717-735-8776, extension 14. The Ethics in Business Award program has established a conflict of interest policy. For more information on this policy, please click here. |
